Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up the FordPass App

The FordPass app works by connecting to the vehicle’s embedded systems through the FordPass Connect modem, or via Bluetooth for older models. Here’s a step-by-step outline of how to engage with the app:

  • Download and Install. The app is available for free on both  iOS and  Android platforms. Download and install it.
  • Create an Account. Follow the easy instructions for creating a FordPass account and log in.
  • Add your Vehicle. After logging in, add your vehicle by entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and following on-screen instructions.
  • Pairing and Setup. If your vehicle has FordPass Connect, the app prompts you to activate the modem and pair the device. Follow the step-by-step pairing instructions for Bluetooth-enabled features.

1. Remote Access and Control

  • Remote Start and Stop: Why wait? You can start and stop your vehicle’s engine remotely, a feature especially useful in cold weather conditions to warm up the vehicle’s interior from a distance.
