What’s New for the 2025 Ford Escape?

The 2025 Ford Escape has some exciting new updates from the previous year’s model. A big change from the 2024 Ford Escape is the refreshed exterior design. It now features updated sheet metal that creates a more distinctive, expressive design. The interior got some upgrades too, with an enhanced infotainment center and more comfortable and versatile interior layouts.

With the 2025 model, buyers can choose from six different trim levels, including the Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, Platinum, ST-Line Elite, and the Plug-in Hybrid.

While the Ford Escape is mechanically similar to the Bronco Sport, the Escape is designed to be a comfortable, stylish, and high-tech daily driver rather than an off-road machine. This means that you’ll get a roomier interior, advanced infotainment, and a powerful engine with great fuel economy.

Engine and Powertrain Options

The 2025 Ford Escape is available as either a gas, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid. The non-hybrid Escape has two powertrain options: a 181-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with front or all-wheel drive, or a 250-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine with all-wheel drive. Both engines have an eight-speed transmission. The base model engine gets the best fuel economy, though other engines drop in efficiency only slightly.

Interior and Cargo Space

The 2025 Ford Escape has a spacious interior that’s great for families, vacations, and as a daily driver. The front row has 42.4 inches of legroom, while the rear has an impressive 40.7 inches of legroom in the gas models, and 38.9 inches in the hybrid models. When the rear seats are upright, you’ll get 37.5 cubic feet of cargo space. When the rear seats are folded, that increases to an incredible 65.4 cubic feet of cargo. The hybrid models have slightly less cargo space.

The base model of the vehicle has stylish textured cloth seats, but you can upgrade to faux-leather in the Platinum trim package.

Infotainment and Tech Features

The Active and ST-Line models both come equipped with 8-inch infotainment screens, while the Platinum model upgrades this to a 13.2-inch touchscreen display. No matter the screen size, you’ll get Ford’s latest Sync 4 infotainment technology, as well as both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. One awesome feature of the Escape is automatic upgrades, so you’ll never have to worry about running software updates.

With the upgraded engine, you’ll get 23 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.
