The Ford Co Pilot 360 is a suite that includes the driver-assist features that the manufacturer offers in its lineup. While the feature availability varies from one model to another, most of the critical components are available across the major lineups. This suite debuted in 2019 with the Edge SUV and later became available across the brand, except for the heavy-duty pickup. The core features of the system include a forward collision warning added to automatic emergency braking, along with pedestrian detection. It also has a blind spot warning bundled up with rear cross-traffic alert; lane assists technology, automatic high-beam headlamps, and the federally required backup reversing camera.

Upgrades to the Ford Co Pilot 360

Ford upgraded the suite in 2021 with the addition of the BlueCruise. This is a hands-free driving system that is currently available in the Mustang Mach-E and F-150. The technology has been installed on several of the 2021 models. However, the technology will not be activated until the software that manages it becomes available later in 2023. The upgrade works with the proprietary intelligent adaptive cruise control, which has speed sign recognition and lane centering. When the driver is in control, the technology uses infrared to monitor the driver's eyes and head position to ensure that they concentrate on the road.

Which Models Will Have the Upgraded System?

The hardware for the Co Pilot 360 Active 2.0 Prep Package is standard on Mach-E California Route 1 First and Premium Editions, as well as the F-150 Limited. It is optional for others.
